Notes from Nana!

Our Haley will soon celebrate her 10th birthday! God has blessed us with this child. Our family appreciates the prayers and support so many who have given on her behalf. As she continues to grow and deal with her life experiences, we ask that you remember her.

This week she will undergo another surgery, this time on her feet. Her surgeries now number in the double digits. When Haley walks with her walker or canes, she drags her feet and is plaqued by toe infections. She also wears out her shoes in less than a month. I was able to find a pair of her favorite tennies yesterday on a great sale. They are black, covered with pink stars and sliver glitter! She has become quite the fashion Icon! Loves bright, outrageous clothes. They make a statement and so does Haley's life. She shines bright in the midst of her physical tribulations, putting most adults to shame over our minor complaints! This Nana has learned much from this child.

I have recently finished a book about Haley, "The Heart of a Child" and we are in process of trying to get it published. The profits from the book will go to help Haley and a portion from each sale will benefit MakeAWish Foundation.

The book includes a reprint of the Chicken Soup article from Chicken Soup for the Nurses Soul, a Second Dose. In the original story, Haley encounters a young boy disfigured by burn scars. It was a chance meeting we believed that was ordained by God. We did not even know the childs last name of have any expectation of meeting him again. This past spring God miraculously brought these two children and their families together again. Haley's book is one of encouragement that uses humor and heart tugging stories such as this to help all who read it to persevere in times of trouble.

Please take the time to pray for Haley. Her needs are both physical and emotional as her condition is ever changing and she is growing into a young lady. We thank God for her strong will, outgoing personality and determination that serves her well. Also pray for her mom, stepdad and siblings. Those who have family members with disabilities understand the unpredictable pressures that accompany such families. There are also pressing financial needs at this time. Haley needs a foldable wheel chair especially suited to her specific needs, that would allow her to be more independent when she is in a position where her motorized wheel chair cannot be used. She misses out on many opportunities to be with friends and family because the motorized chair can only be transported by the family van.

Haley is hoping to take art and music lessons this fall and monies donated to Haley's Heart fund will provide that opportunity for her. Art and craft activities are the things that she is able to do and enjoy especially in times of recovering from surgeries. She has keyboard that she wants to learn to play and she spends time composing songs. Our goal is to help Haley have as normal a childhood as possible. Please Pray For Haley

Please say a pray for Haley she had a seizure at school today. They are doing an EEG in the AM. Beth is so stressed, it's been rough lately with everything going on with Haley. I think they all need a good nights sleep.

It's not the Flu

Thank you Jesus, it's not the flu, but it is a virus. She still has a fever and doesn't feel good. Please continue to pray for God to heal her Kidneys. Also pray for a fundraiser we are trying to do. She needs a new wheelchair lift for the car.

Haley has the flu

I spoke with Beth earlier this evening. Haley has the flu. If she is not any better in the morning they are going to put her in the hospital.

Beth got the reports from Haley's Nephrologists, Haley's kidneys are under developed and her bladder is enlarged. They are going to start her on some medicine.

Please pray for Haley and her family.

Haley is having out patient surgery in the morning.

Haley is having out patient surgery in the morning on her nose. Haley has a positive outlook about the surgery. She had a rough Friday night but is doing much better today.

Beth informed me that the doctor told them They need a lift for the tub and they need a fold up wheelchair. This is a prayer request. Haley's fund is down to nothing and we have not had any luck selling items on Ebay. We have giving Haley's Heart a consignor number 131. We are asking friends and relatives to tag 1 or 2 of there items with Haley's Number. We will have most of the items in one central location and it will be marked. If you would like to tag a few items for Haley you can drop them off at the Sale On Tuesday September 29.

Please pray for Haley this morning. She needs to see the new doctor this morning and not September 14. Can't go into a lot about it right now. IF you put your pray request here I can print them and give them to Haley.

Another Fracture

I spoke with Beth today and Haley has a stress fracture (foot) They will re X-ray in 2 weeks and she is in her wheelchair until then. She will not beable to put a cast on until then, not sure why.

As far as the Nephrologists she has to go see another one that specialises in what she has.

Please pray for the family they have so much on them.

Getting Ready For School

Spoke with Bethany yesterday. She is busy getting Haley ready for school. She had to get reevaluated for in home care and a few other things. There is so much work involved with getting good care for Haley.
Haley has to go to the nephrologist this week. Let's pray everything is all right. And pray for Haley's emotional health. She is not a bubble as she use to be. This is really starting to take a toll on Haley's Spirit.

Haley is on Ebay!

I'm sorry about not blogging in so long. I have not gotten the pictures yet but with Rick's surgery Beth has not had time to get them to me. Haley was back at the MD yesterday, she is having nose bleeds again and her blood pressure is up a little. I hope to have more information this week. Haley is now on Ebay here are this months auctions

They are on there way home!

I talked to Beth last night and they have had a great time and just have not had time to upload the photos. I will go and get the photos loaded on my computer and have you a slide show next week with some great story's like Haley was in a village idol the 1st night, Bri was a judge.

I have not heard anything yet!

Just Got A Text!

I just got a text and they are almost there!!! It's been a good trip. I wish I could be there to see those sweet faces as they go through all of the neat attractions!

They're on the road!

I talked to Beth this morning about 7AM and they were getting ready to get on the road. They should be there by now or close. Beth & Rick will start uploading picture in the next couple of days I hope to have the first photos up by Firday so stop back by and check them out this weekend.
